The K-pop realm has recently seen a new addition. Making their debut in May is the new K-pop girl group Kiiras with their first single, Kill Ma BO$$ (2025). Comprised of Ling Ling, Harin, Kurumi, Kylie, Doyeon, and Roah, the six-piece band presented a bold and unforgettable debut concept.
Kill Ma BO$$ (2025) is a dynamic pop single which fuses R&B and hip-hop influences with American country instrumentation, introducing a new genre fusion to K-pop.
Boasting a kitschy “cowgirl” concept, they’ve also set themselves apart from other groups. But more than that, the girls are also ambitious in their own right, as reflected in their debut tune. The music video has since raked up more than seven million views.
The word ‘boss’ in the title is a nod to the many existing rules and standards in the world. And the track also expresses the members’s bold determination to break these norms, while creating their new standards as rookies.
Like many other K-pop groups, Kiiras also has foreign members. In particular, the band’s leader, Ling Ling, was born in Malaysia. The 20-year-old star is known for her multilingualism as she speaks Malay, English, Chinese and Korean.
Fans would also know that she previously took part in Mnet’s survival competition I-Land 2: Final Countdown, where she finished second in pre-voting.
With their charm and hard work, the girls’s efforts did not go unnoticed either. Recently, they bagged the Rookie of the Year award at the 2025 Korea Hallyu Entertainment Awards.
“We will work even harder to promote K-pop and make sure this rookie award is not in vain,” the group said.
