BTS’s Jin is back with his second solo album, Echo (2025). Following his previous release of his solo debut album, Happy (2024), this new record explores themes of love, friendships and everyday life. The new album features a total of seven songs, including a collaboration with Yena. This album encapsulates Jin’s unique perspective of conveying universal life experiences and emotions.

Ahead, get a closer look into each of the seven tracks on Jin’s new EP Echo.

Don’t Say You Love Me

Serving as the title track, Don’t Say You Love Me (2025) delivers a melancholic, all-English track that captures the ambivalence of a volatile relationship.

As the lyrics go: “Don’t say that you love me ‘cause it hurts the most/You just gotta let me go” and “I really thought this was for the best/It never worked last time that I checked”.

The music video is shot in none other than sunny Singapore. It features various iconic locations in Singapore, like Gardens by the Bay, Singapore Flyer and National Gallery Singapore, to name a few. Jin and K-actress Shin Se-kyung boast impeccable chemistry as an on-screen couple. They perfectly portrayed the struggles of a deteriorating relationship and the feeling of letting someone go.

Nothing Without Your Love

I’m nothing without your love. Just like its title suggests, Nothing Without Your Love (2025) delves into the grieving process of a breakup. Despite the track’s groovy vibe, the lyrics capture the post-breakup identity crisis that one may face while going through a breakup.

Loser (feat. Yena)

Loser (feat. Yena) (2025) features a lively and upbeat sound with an energetic rhythm.

The collaboration with Yena creates an addictive and refreshing charm to the album as their vocals complement each other effortlessly.  With such a groovy melody and smooth vocals, one just can’t help but dance along to it.

Rope It

Starting the track off with a horse “neigh” sound effect? Now, this is a completely different soundscape that we’ve not seen from any of the BTS members.

Talk about versatility. This country-rock infused track truly highlights the deliverance of Jin’s emotions evoked through his voice. Lyrics like “The moment I leaped over with both feet/I danced high above the rope” express the courage of taking control and making bold choices in pursuit of your dreams.

With the Clouds

This track offers a dreamy vibe and flows smoothly, making it such an easy listen. The lyrics delve into themes of companionship and the feeling of going through life with someone who accepts every part of you.

What makes this track stand out from the rest of the tracks is the mesmerising guitar solo, perfectly highlighting Jin’s delicate vocals.

Background

A slower-paced ballad, Background (2025) explores the pain of clinging to a past relationship.  A huge contrast to the album’s high-tempo and upbeat melody, Jin’s pure emotions truly radiate through this ballad track.

To Me, Today

A perfect conclusion to the Echo album. The message behind this track serves as a letter to live in the present moment. As the lyrics go: “Come on, shake off your worries/Live in the present”, Jin delivers the simple message of being present and not worrying about the future.
