Returning to Singapore for one of the splashiest festivals of the year, Jay B is ready to make waves—literally. As he gears up for his first-ever Waterbomb Singapore performance, the Korean star and GOT7 leader is embracing the energy, the crowd, and the tropical chaos of it all.
Since debuting solo, he’s carved out a distinct sound that spans R&B, soul, and alt-pop. So how does he keep pushing boundaries while still sounding like himself?
“I believe my constant self-reflection about myself is what allows me to maintain my style while also developing,” he explains. “Also, when I copy and practice songs I like, I think about how I can interpret them in my own way, and that’s probably why.”
And while his setlist is locked in, his food itinerary isn’t just yet—though he’s open to recommendations. “I’m not sure yet, so I will have to look into it. I’m open to trying [local food] if you have any recommendations,” he adds with a laugh.
Fresh off a string of global appearances and known for his soulful vocals, genre-spanning discography, and raw performance style, Jay B tells us he’s especially excited to connect with fans here. Before he hit the stage, we caught up with him for a quick chat about what to expect from his set, how he keeps evolving as an artist, and his hopes for new music on the horizon.
GRAZIA Singapore (GS): Welcome back to Singapore! How does it feel to be part of Waterbomb Singapore 2025?
Jay B (JB): I’m really excited for my first Waterbomb performance, and I hope we can all have a great and fun time together.
GS: What’s one song in your lineup you’re especially excited to perform live here—and why?
JB: For Waterbomb, I think Crash and Go Up would be a good fit. I believe I can show a fun and energetic performance with those songs.
GS: If you could describe your performance style in three words, what would they be?
JB: I would describe myself as raw, free, and live. I always make an effort to enjoy myself on stage, and I think that’s why I enjoy my performances.
GS: What’s next for you after Waterbomb? Can fans look forward to any new music, tours, or creative projects?
JB: I don’t have any exact plans yet, but I definitely want to release a new album, and I’m looking forward to doing that.
GS: Lastly, what would you like to say to your Singapore fans who’ve come out to party with you this summer?
JB: Let’s have a great time together and create more fun memories~
