It’s official: Blackpink’s Jisoo, 28, and actor Ahn Bo-hyun, 35, are the newest pair in the Korean entertainment industry.
South Korean tabloid Dispatch has got a reputation for revealing celebrity couples. So it’s no surprise that there’s a new couple announced by the outlet once again.
What’s surprising is that the couple was revealed to be Jisoo and Korean actor Ahn Bo-hyun.
Fans have speculated that Jisoo and actor Jung Hae-in might have been a pair instead. The duo starred in Disney+’s Snowdrop (2021) and they played an onscreen couple.
Such speculations were not unfounded, as Jung was also spotted at the Seoul leg of Blackpink’s Born Pink show previously.
But it seems that it will just stay as a rumour. Jung was also unaware of the news and he found out about it through the media. “I saw it on the front page of the entertainment section while I was getting ready for my interview,” he said.
When the news of the couple broke, Jisoo’s agency, YG Entertainment said: “[They] are in a stage where they are getting to know each other slowly”.
“We would appreciate [it] if you could [appreciate] the couple,” they added. Ahn’s agency, FN Entertainment, has also confirmed the news.
The 35-year-old actor previously starred in various drama series like Itaewon Class (2020), Yumi’s Cells (2021) and recent romance drama See You in My 19th Life (2023).
The duo was last spotted publicly, albeit individually, for the VIP preview screening of crime film Smugglers. Ahn wore an olive green shirt, paired with dark long wide trousers. Jisoo, on the other hand, pulled up in a casual fit, wearing a white t-shirt with denim jeans.
