K-pop idols have always been known for their unbelievable suite of talents—whether it’s their singing, dancing or even their ability to connect with their fans in the most meaningful ways. And at Day6’s concert in Singapore on 22 November, I experienced that firsthand.
At the band’s 3rd world tour Forever Young, the members of Day6 each showcased their unique musical abilities, coming together to perform some of the group’s most memorable tracks. From Best Part (2019) to Melt Down (2024), the charming quartet captured the audience right from their first performance of the night. To My Days (as Day6’s fans are known), this came as no surprise, considering they’ve been performing together since their debut in 2015. The group was last in town in 2019 for their Gravity tour, and in the last five years, it seems that their live performance abilities have only grown in strength.
The four-piece band, known for their heart-stirring tracks, left no dry eyes at The Star Theatre with their beautiful renditions of some of their greatest hits, like Congratulations (2015) and You Were Beautiful (2017). Each live version was perfectly delivered, each line and verse hitting harder with the members’s emotional performance. And with the addition of Young K’s flawless vocal adlibs during I Loved You (2017) and Letting Go (2016), you could just feel the crowd swooning.
A particularly memorable moment came during the sing-along portion of the concert. Day6 had planned a mini karaoke segment where fans were invited to sing collectively, while the members took a backseat, allowing My Days’s voices to fill the space. Hearing 5,000 fans sing along to I’m Serious (2017) and Somehow (2018) was definitely a highlight of the night. Young K even complimented the fans’s singing, quipping that we were all so “steady”—in a Singaporean accent, no less—for screaming out the Korean lyrics.
Between each segment of the show, the members shared what they had all been up to in Singapore. As it turns out, the quartet went out to enjoy some chilli crab and pepper crab, and it seems that Dowoon, in particular, relished the food. The 29-year-old vocalist and drummer kept trying (and adorably struggling) to say the food was very shiok, much to the delight of Singaporean My Days.
The excitement was far from over, especially as the group launched into their more upbeat tracks, including Dance Dance (2017) and Shxtty Game (2024), which drew chants from everyone in the venue. Even while playing their instruments, Day6’s stage presence was so infectious that fans were on their feet, dancing vigorously to each song.
When the night was coming to a close, Wonpil almost shed a tear when My Days presented the group with a special video filled with messages of support and encouragement. The concert came to an end after Welcome To The Show (2024), with the boys telling the crowd that the Forever Young tour was not the end but merely the start of My Days’s journey with Day6. They’re just getting started.
