Queen Rosé is back with a new track! And this time, it’s with none other than the prince of funk Bruno Mars. APT., the new single released by Rosé and Mars, is an upbeat and witty track, with many references to Korean culture, as an homage to the songstress’s roots and beginnings in the K-Pop world. Even the song’s title APT. literally translates to apartment in Korean. So when Rosé is singing, “Meet me at the APT.,” she’s (almost) inviting us to her apartment, and who are we to say no?
The new track combines the electrifying tones of both vocalists along with a funky pop tune. Rosé opens APT. and Mars joins in after the first chorus, and it’s plain to see how their chemistry just shines through in the song’s newly-released music video. The infectiously good vibes in the video are hard to resist, especially when the pair playfully dance around a black and pink set (perhaps yet another Easter egg to Rosé’s start in the music scene) in matching outfits. The single is likely to be part of Rosé’s upcoming first studio album rosie, that is set to be unveiled to the world on 6 December. The South Korean singer recently signed a contract with Atlantic Records, which is also home to major music makers such as FKA Twigs, Charli XCX and Lizzo.
On the music front, it seems that the girls of Blackpink are finally coming back to the scene. Just last week, Jennie dropped Mantra, a modern pop girl anthem that screams Los Angeles. Since then, the Chanel muse has even gone on to perform the track on Jimmy Kimmel Live. A rockstar in her own right, Lisa has also been consistently dropping new music, much to the delight of Lilies (as Lisa’s fans are known). With Rockstar, New Woman featuring Rosalía and most recently Moonlit Floor (which sampled the timeless Sixpence None The Richer track Kiss Me), Lisa has been releasing bop after bop, and we’re here for it. Now, we’re all just waiting for Jisoo to hit us with new music, which actually might come sooner than we expect. The Dior global ambassador just unveiled her new chestnut brown hair on her Instagram account. For those unacquainted, in the K-Pop world, new hair usually means new music. Safe to say, we’re more than excited.
