The Oscars isn’t the only star-studded affair celebrating film this week. On the other side of the globe, Asian celebrities flocked to the Xiqu Centre in Hong Kong for the 17th Asian Film Awards. The annual ceremony, presented by the Asian Film Awards Academy, honours the achievements of actors and filmmakers from the film industries of Hong Kong, China, Japan and more. And, much like the Oscars, the award’s red carpet is a place for the stars to shine.
Fan Bingbing is one such star. The Chinese actress and GRAZIA Singapore cover star appeared on stage to present the Best Actor award—which went to Perfect Days star Koji Yakusho—and as she did so, she flaunted a magnificent white caftan gown from Stéphane Rolland’s Spring/Summer 2024 haute couture collection. The back of Fan’s dress, adorned with 3D roses, was also worthy of the spotlight. Fan completed her regal look with a pearl necklace and sparkling diamond ear cuffs.
Carina Lau was another shining star. Clad in a Jenny Packham crystal-embellished gown, the Hong Kong actress literally glittered as she walked down the red carpet with her husband Tony Leung. Her black dress featured a dramatic tulle cape that was also covered in crystals, and, for good measure, Lau styled her ensemble with Cartier jewels.
The men were not style slouches either. Thai actor Win Metawin, who scooped up the AFA Rising Star Award at the ceremony, looked dapper in his Prada suit and tie. Keeping his outfit simple and sophisticated, Metawin wore minimalist Tiffany & Co rings.
Metawin’s Under Parallel Skies co-star Janella Salvador made a sartorial statement herself. The Filipino actress channelled Audrey Hepburn in a black, bow-embellished gown. Elsewhere during the evening, Taiwanese actress Tiffany Ann Hsu dazzled in a Chanel gown adorned with feathers and the CC logo in sequins.
It goes without saying that the Asian Film Awards 2024 was a feast for the eyes. Below, see what the best-dressed celebrities wore.
