From Ariana Grande And Cynthia Erivo To Ejae, The Stars Came Out To Play At 16th Governors Awards 2025
The Academy's Governors Awards celebrates the lifelong achievements of the film industry's major contributors

At the Governors Awards today, the stars all came out to play. Previously known as the honourary Oscars, the Governors Awards celebrates only the very best in the business, typically awarding only those who have made special contributions to further the art of cinema. Lifetime contribution awards are also doled out to long-term players in the field. This year was the 16th edition of the award ceremony, with many major stars in film in attendance.
Perhaps the brightest stars of the evening were Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, co-stars from the wildly popular Wicked film franchise, who sported toned-down versions of their signature green and pink ensembles. We also loved the drop-waist gown worn by Ejae, the voice behind Rumi from hit Netflix animated film Kpop Demon Hunters.
