At GRAZIA Singapore HQ, the old excites us as much as the new and in this weekly column, we ask our fellow friends, industry-goers and beauty aficionados about the last thing they loved be it trends, products, or even the image they looked at when it came to inspiring themselves.
Here, content creator and entrepreneur Yvonne Chong (@von115) shares some of her lasts.
The last beauty product I finished was Glossier’s Ultralip in the shade Trench ($33) and I have finished 4 of them. It’s my favourite shade for an every day or a no-makeup-makeup look.
The last viral makeup/skincare trend I tried was the soap brow trend! I immediately obsessed with how my brows look since the first day I tried it out and have been doing it until now. I brush my brows with Benefit Cosmetics’s 24-Hr Brow Setter Invisible Brow Gel ($47) and draw strokes using the Sephora Collection Retractable Waterproof Brow Pencil ($20).
The last beauty product I bought was the Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm ($67). I have been using it for years! It quickly dissolves makeup, it does not clog my pores too. The best part is I can easily bring it everywhere because it is a balm!
The last image I looked at for beauty inspiration was an Instagram makeup post from Steph Hui (@stxph.h). I enjoy watching her makeup videos and also look for make-up inspiration from her.
The last beauty product I bought again was the Benefit Cosmetics 24H Brow Setter Eyebrow Gel. I can’t live without this brow setter as it leaves my feather brows lasting the whole day. I have tried tons of brow soaps or brow gels but none of them has worked as well as this one.
The last beauty indulgence I treated myself to was the Lancôme Rénergie H.C.F. Triple Serum ($228). I was gifted one bottle from the brand earlier and I have finished it. Then, I purchased another one myself. I love how it makes my skin so plump and smooth the next morning. I use it on my neck too!
The last beauty product I made a holy grail was the Dior Beauty Limited Edition Rouge Dior Forever Liquid Sequin! I really wanted to get my hands on it as it was going viral! I have watched videos of the swatches on lips and they are so pretty!
The last beauty product I gifted someone was the Philosophy Hope in a Jar Smooth Glow Multi-tasking Moisturizer ($65) to my boyfriend. This is the only skincare product he uses every day and I realised his face is glowier than mine after he started using it.
The last beauty product that truly impressed me was the Chanel Beauty Poudre Universelle Libre Natural Finish Loose Powder ($99) which gives a very smooth and soft-matte finish. It also keeps my face oil-free the whole day! I used it once before going for an outdoor workout event where I could still feel its powdery texture on my face after sweating really badly. Its sweat resistance really impressed me.
The last makeup/skincare trick I taught someone was to my sister and it was to use a primer and makeup setting spray before applying foundation! I learnt from Tiktok that it was a way to make our foundation last even longer! I tried it and it worked!
