At GRAZIA Singapore HQ, the old excites us as much as the new and in this weekly column, we ask our fellow friends, industry-goers and beauty aficionados about the last thing they loved be it trends, products, or even the image they looked at when it came to inspiring themselves.
Here, marketer, model, founder of Vitiligo Association Malaysia, and body positivity activist Sonya Charles (@sonyadanita) lists down some of her lasts.
The last beauty product I finished was IT Cosmetics Confidence In a Cream Transforming Moisturizing Super Cream ($85 for 60ml)! Absolutely love this for dry skin because it gives my skin so much moisture and works great even for those with sensitivity!
The last viral makeup/skincare trend I tried was clean girl makeup! I absolutely love a makeup routine that is quick, easy and gives a really natural look! Since I have multiple colours on my skin, I like to make sure that my skin still looks healthy and exactly as it is—with just a hint of additions here and there!
The last beauty product I bought was Fresh’s Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner ($72 for 250ml) and Kombucha Facial Treatment Essence ($139 for 150ml)! I’ve been hearing so much about these skincare staples and their game-changing properties, and just had to get my hands on it to give it a try myself!
I have been loving the results so far and can’t wait to see how it further helps my skin in the long run!
The last beauty product I bought again was MAC Cosmetics’s FIX+ Setting Spray ($43)! This is such a great setting spray to set makeup as it’s so lightweight and honestly the best to keep your makeup in place even under the crazy heat!
The last beauty product I made my holy grail are several which includes Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Serum ($320 for 115ml), Lancôme’s Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate Serum ($260 for 75ml), Supergoop! sunscreens, Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Gel Exfoliant ($52), Sothys Renovative Micro Capsules Serum with Pure Vitamin C ($268), Tatcha Indigo Overnight Repair ($157), etc.
Honestly, I have so many that have become a holy grail and I alternate them depending on what my skin needs for the day.
The last beauty product I gifted someone was the Laneige Water Bank Hydro Essence (RM$95)!
The last beauty product that truly impressed me was Rare Beauty’s line of lipsticks and lipliners as I’m obsessed with the brand! I’ve been wanting to try their lip oils too but aside from this, I am also a fan of brands like FENTY Beauty, Makeup Forever, and Estée Lauder.
The last beauty indulgence I treated myself to was a facial! This is something that I do not go for very often as I usually would try my best to do what I can at home. However, I recently decided that I needed to treat myself to a facial done by professionals, followed by a wonderful massage!
The last image I looked at for beauty inspiration wasn’t one in particular but rather several on Pinterest! It is my go-to app for all things art, fashion, beauty, etc.
The last makeup/skincare trick I taught someone was that the best way to draw eyeliner is from the outer corner inwards! This helps you to get that perfect winged liner that’s symmetrical and clean.
