At GRAZIA Singapore HQ, the old excites us as much as the new and in this weekly column, we ask our fellow friends, industry-goers and beauty aficionados about the last thing they loved be it trends, products, or even the image they looked at when it came to inspiring themselves.
Here, Asian Hip-Hop royalty Awich (@Awich098) shares some of her lasts.
The last beauty product I finished was the Ekato Radiance Lotion (JP¥5,500, about SGD$49) which I have been using for a couple of years. It’s light but gives so much moisture.
The last viral makeup/skincare trend I tried was drawing a graphic eyeliner using a glue gun. My makeup artist made some shapes using a glue gun on a plate before drying and coating them with chrome powder.
The artist then placed them around my eyes with lash glue. I did that for my Bad Bitch Bigaku Performance video and also for a Louis Vuitton show in Seoul.
The last beauty product I bought was the Michiko.Life Fortolis Mascara (JP¥4,400, about SGD$40). It’s a mascara with eyelash serum in it.
The last image I looked at for beauty inspiration was Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour outfit. All of the wardrobe was so inspiring.
The last beauty product I bought again was PULA’s Powder Shampoo (JP¥3,564, about SGD$32). I read a book on how to grow healthy hair and the author of the book had created this powder shampoo.
It supposedly activates better blood circulation on the scalp and the pores which is the basis of healthy hair.
The last beauty indulgence I treated myself to was daily acupuncture and massage sessions before my arena show. It helps with easing stress physically and therefore, mental stress too.
It enhances the body’s blood flow and affects the release of healing hormones.
The last beauty product I made a holy grail was the Ekato Precious Gel Pack (¥4950, about SGD$45). It’s a gel pack that stays on your skin for an hour to release carbon dioxide onto your skin which expands your blood vessels.
This enhances blood circulation and is believed to accelerate turnovers. Yes, I really love anything that gives me good blood circulation [laughs].
The last beauty product I gifted someone was the Ekato Precious Gel Pack!
The last beauty product that truly impressed me was the Terahertz Gua Sha (US$29.99, about SGD$40) for massaging the face. Guess what? It promotes good blood circulation [laughs]. Terahertz is a synthetic gemstone or mineral-like material that emits terahertz waves which means it vibrates one trillion times per second. This energy is close to the frequency of infrared light.
When you put this stone onto the ice, you can watch the ice melt so quickly. I use this Gua Sha to massage my face and sometimes use it to apply cream to my face.
The last makeup/skincare trick I taught someone was a lip combo trick using different colour rouges, pencils and powders which is not a popular thing to do in Japan.A lot of makeup artists don’t know what it is so I had to let them know!
My favourite look using it is the one where I was on the recent issue of Harper’s Bazaar Japan.
