Hot off the heels of her big Fenty Hair debut, Rihanna has some more major news for the beauty world: She is officially the new face of Dior’s legendary fragrance, J’adore.

Taking over the reins from Charlize Theron, who served as the iconic gilded goddess for two decades, the beauty mogul will star in the new campaign, shot by Steven Klein and to be revealed on September 1. She joins the likes of Natalie Portman, Jenna Ortega and Jennifer Lawrence as faces of Parfums Christian Dior. According to WWD, Theron will remain within the French luxury house family as an ambassador for skincare and jewellery.

“The scent that I have known and loved for so long means so much to women,” said Rihanna in a brand statement shared with WWD. “I am especially looking forward to joining this adventure and contributing to it through my world, my story, my roots, as well as my creativity and my own femininity.”

“Parfums Christian Dior is truly delighted to welcome icon Rihanna, whose wide-ranging talents, remarkable beauty and universal appeal now embody the world of J’adore,” read Dior’s Instagram announcement.

For her own social media post, the singer kept things short and sweet.

“The secret is out,” she wrote. “J’adore @dior.”

First released in 1999, J’adore has become one of the most recognisable fragrances in the world. Over the years, several iterations have spawned, including an alcohol-free version called J’adore Parfum d’eau and, more recently,  J’adore l’Or, which stands as a reimagined version concocted by the house’s new creative director of fragrance, Francis Kurkdjian.

While this isn’t Rihanna’s first rodeo—she released her first scent under the Fenty Eau de Parfum brand in 2021, which sold out within hours of launching—her appointment serves as a major milestone in her career and ushers in a new era for Dior.
