As the local beauty industry has returned to its former glory with drops by the day, we have taken it into our hands to talk weekly about some of the best beauty launches. Some are noteworthy for their instant results, while others are special simply because they make us feel and look good while looking good themselves.
Here, the top 10 beauty launches that landed on GRAZIA’s beauty desk or piqued our interest this week.
Pictured Above: 1. Soft Core
Frankly, we have seen this formula done by many brands—a cream blush with a highlighter core—but how this Nudestix one shines the brightest is the soft matte finish of its blush and the glisten of its highlighter that gives an illusion of wet skin. If you only have time in the morning to use one product for instantly fresher-looking skin then let this one be it.
Nudestix Nudies Matte + Glow Core, $28.50
2. CLOSED CHAPTER
The impending fall girl season heralds things like pumpkin spice lattes, cosy cashmere knits, and perfumes that are sexy in an I-casually-used-my-lover’s-one kind of way. Aesop’s final scent for its Othertopias story is the most sensual yet: spicy elemi, aromatic lavender, and creamy Tonka that makes it the perfume version of the “boyfriend sweater”.
Aesop Ouranon Eau de Parfum, $255 for 50ml
3. Animal Instinct
If Artemis, the Greek celestial of hunting were to have a signature scent then Goddess would be it. Three distinct types of vanillas give it grace, elegance, and physicality but what’s a Hellenic tale without some vigour? Goddess has aromatic lavender, bitter cacao, and spicy ginger which gives it an attention-commanding aura.
Burberry Beauty Goddess Eau de Parfum, $200 for 50ml
4. BONJOUR PARIS
If there ever comes a day when you can bring yourself to finally use this twee palette, let us comfort you by letting you know that its nine universal shades are flattering regardless of your skin’s tone and as for its finishes, très bien—the creamiest of satins and the most metallics of shimmers. Perfect for imitating your favourite Parisian girl be it the adventurous Léna Mahfouf or Mindy Chen on one of her more low-key days.
By Terry V.I.P. Expert N4. Bonjour Paris Palette, $95
5. JUST IN CASE
Yes, it’s a lot to pay for something so utilitarian but don’t you want to be that girl? You know, the one who nonchalantly whips out a designer toiletry bag in public to apply her makeup? And we’d like to give you two more reasons: the 30 Montaigne Vénus pouch expands to herculean proportions to accommodate everything you stuff inside and call it a placebo effect, but it has a strange ability to make everything it contains inside feel high-end.
Dior 30 Montaigne Vénus pouch, $1,250
6. THREE DIMENSION
Warning: You might no longer recognise the woman staring back at you in the mirror after just one week of using this luxurious serum as she looks snatched. Containing an ingredient called Rosapeptide Premier that’s made up of 99 revitalising rose molecules, each dollop of the serum does everything— tightening, smoothening, and brightening—except for making us look like Jisoo.
Dior Prestige Le Nectar Premiere, $970
7. FULL SPECTRUM
What does a rainbow smell like? If you know, please drop us a DM on our Instagram (@Grazia.sg) but until someone does so, we’re content with using this perfume that has ingredients relating to its colours—mandarin for red, cedar for green, grass for indigo etc.—that subtly changes “colour” as you wear it throughout the day. Seriously, it’s like getting seven fragrances for the price of one.
D.S. & DURGA Steamed Rainbow Eau de Parfum, $397 for 100ml
8. Sweet Tooth
What are the odds that Guerlain would launch such a delicious treat in the same month as the opening of Cédric Grolet in Singapore? If you have the pleasure of tasting Grolet’s famous Vanilla Tart, you’d assume that Bosca Vanilla has the same flavoursome quality—aromatic vanilla, buttery immortelle, and a creaminess that can only come with musk (that is, for the fragrance).
Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Forte Bosca Vamilla Eau de Parfum, $218 for 75ml
9. Done Deal
When is the best time to use this mask? It’s when your skin needs a deep-action cleanse courtesy of bamboo charcoal that draws dirt, debris, and environmental pollutants out like a magnet or if you’re looking for a cleansing mask that doubles up as a hydrating one (it contains hydrating shea butter and chia seed oil). When should you not use it? Perhaps, after six to seven uses as your skin will feel and look much better.
Origins Clear Improvement™ Rich Purifying Charcoal Mask, $65
10. SLEEP ON IT
The term “sleep on it” extends beyond the making of life-changing decisions as proven by this sumptuous liquid that will allow you to wake up to firmer, brighter skin. Using an ingredient called a Fundamental Regeneration Complex which is a combination of anti-ageing ingredients, the brand claims it unlocks the skin’s regenerative power overnight but we prefer to think of it simply—a super fluid that heals the skin while powering it up for the next day.
Sisley Supremÿa At Night The Supreme Anti-Aging Skin Care, $930
