This week is an exciting time in the beauty sphere, with brand new experiences for beauty buffs in Singapore to explore. Korean cosmetic brand Jungsaemmool ventures into its first global flagship space, and Lancôme brings high-school fun to the fragrance and makeup arenas. Plus, we also take a closer look at some of the cutest hair and makeup details from our favourite Korean idols. Keep reading for some start-of-week beauty inspiration.

Lisa’s Dolly Falsies

Even though the girls of Blackpink are no longer as active on stage as they used to be, Lisa is still keeping us in the know with her recent Instagram posts. Having travelled to Monaco recently for the 2024 Grand Prix on the last weekend, the Thai star showed up in a series of stunning outfits and beauty looks. Our favourite is a dolly makeup look that she wore with a mixed striped dress. With the round circular blush placement and thick false eyelashes, this makeup look sure is a departure from Lisa’s typical baddie-inspired glam.

Jungsaemmool’s First Global Flagship Store

Established by star makeup artist Jung Saem Mool, South Korean beauty label Jungsaemmool just opened its first flagship store in Singapore. The two-storey building along Scotts Road is the brand’s first flagship outlet outside of South Korea, and allows shoppers to get the full Jungsaemmool experience in one locale. In addition to the retail space, the salon and beauty academy space make for a comfortable space to learn more about best beauty practices, whether that entails haircare, skincare or enhancing one’s makeup looks.

The Jungsaemmool Flagship Store is located at 27 Scotts Road.

Lancôme’s Idôle House

French cosmetics brand Lancôme just set up Idôle House, the label’s newest pop-up at ION Orchard. Celebrating the launch of new products across its fragrance and makeup lines, the Idôle House invites visitors to go back to school, with its high school-themed space. Guests can open up the lockers in the space to get to know the new Lancôme Idôl L’Eau De Toilette fragrance, infused with citrus and Shincha green tea accord. Afterwards, in the Idôle Classroom, guests can attend makeup classes as taught by experts from Lancôme, before heading to take their graduation photos in the pink photobooth.

Lancôme’s Idôle House is open from now till 31 May at ION Orchard, B4.

Playing With Colour

Who says that neutral colours are boring? When you play around with different tones and shades, neutrals—like warm browns and soft taupe tones—can become amazing partners to brighter colours. Take it from Russia-based beauty creator @Smeyuka on Instagram, who worked with sand-coloured lashes and purple glitters to balance out the intensity of her sparkly aubergine lips.

Butterfly-Era Wonyoung

One of K-pop’s major it girls of the moment, Wonyoung from IVE, is once again showing us how it’s done. From her bright, pink makeup look—that comes adorned with a hand-drawn butterfly, by the way—to her chunky silver hair clip, Wonyoung is clearly in her butterfly era. The IVE member, known for her unreal visuals, also adds some youth to her face with her round, under-the-eye blush placement. A real-life doll!
