Review: Casetify’s Bounce Carry-On Is Where You’ll Find Function, Fashion, and Flexibility in One

Looking for luggage that can survive airports, fit everything you need, and turn heads? The Casetify Bounce Carry-On checks all the boxes

The first thing you notice about Casetify’s new Bounce suitcases is how good they look. Known for turning phone cases into statements of self-expression, Casetify has now brought that same philosophy to travel gear—and it shows. It’s already showing up in the hands of people whom I consider have taste: SNSD’s Taeyeon has a special Murakami-collab edition (more on that later), Korean rapper-producer Gray has a version of the suitcase, and Taiwanese actor Chen Bolin has been spotted wheeling his around too.

Casetify’s biggest strength has always been personalisation, and its luggage line is no exception. Where most luggage only lets you pick a colour, Casetify gives you fonts, colours, patterns, and background options. You can plaster your name across the front in bold Skyline Font, script it elegantly in Milano, or go playful with dot patterns. The best part is that you can even grab a matching phone case to complete the set—because why stop at one piece of personalised luggage when you can coordinate your tech too?

My suitcase has my initials splashed across it in a crisp font, which means it looks like mine, not just another black case rolling off the carousel (Photo: GRAZIA Singapore/Cheryl Lai-Lim)
I even picked up a phone case in the same design—Casetify doesn’t do half measures (and neither do I, cause I immediately personalised my phone further with keychains that bring me joy) (Photo: GRAZIA Singapore/Cheryl Lai-Lim)

As someone incredibly indecisive, I nearly lost my mind over the choices, but after much debate with my colleagues (“Initials or something witty like GTG? Big font or small font?”), I settled on my initials in Skyline font across the black 21-inch Bounce Carry-On. No regrets—it stood out instantly in a sea of anonymous black trolleys.

And as earlier mentioned, Casetify has also extended its iconic Takashi Murakami collab to luggage, with adorable flower-print designs; it feels inevitable there will be more limited-edition releases—the brand has clearly thought about both style and longevity.

Of course, style without substance is useless in travel. Casetify has engineered the Bounce Carry-On with the same tech DNA it perfected in its phone cases: impact-absorbing bumpers on each corner, a polycarbonate shell tough enough to handle knocks, and smooth Hinomoto wheels that glide over anything from polished airport floors to uneven sidewalks.

On a recent trip, where I missed my flight (don’t ask), I found that the carry-on luggage kept up without a hitch. It rolled smoothly (even up an incline hill) and never wobbled or veered off course, making it feel surprisingly light despite its size. I didn’t make the flight, but at least my arms didn’t burn as much as my legs did. There’s even a dedicated AirTag pocket, which feels like a subtle flex—you’ll never have to nervously refresh your Find My app again.

Inside, the details are thoughtful. The suitcase has magnetic buckles on one side, a zippered panel on the other, and removable linings so you can actually see inside the shell. Casetify’s packing cubes slot neatly in, expanding when you need extra room. On a two-week trip to Australia, I managed to keep my laptop, tech gear, two jackets (you can never be too prepared), a book, snacks, sunglasses, beauty essentials and a plethora of bags neatly separated without the usual chaos of rifling through layers of items.

I tested the luggage again on a recent trip to Bangkok, this time checking it in. Those who know me know I’m an extreme overpacker—my friends can attest to this—but the carry-on managed to fit everything I needed for my 4D3N trip, with room left over for shopping (Pro tip: the detachable Casetify Tech Pack Organizer is perfect for stashing Poy-Sian herbal inhalers and Butterbear merch picked up at the airport).

But here’s the tradeoff: the Bounce Carry-On is not light. At nearly 3.6 kilograms empty, it’s heftier than some of its competitors. That may not sound like much, but if you’re a heavy packer (guilty), the real challenge comes when you’re hoisting it into the overhead bin. I’ll admit—I broke a sweat (and cursed myself for over packing) while trying not to get a slip disc heaving it into place.

Still, what you lose in weight savings, you gain in confidence. This suitcase feels built to last. The structure is solid, the corners feel protected, and the customisation makes it stand out in a sea of identical black bags. It’s not just luggage—it’s luggage with personality.

Final verdict? The Casetify Bounce Carry-On is perfect for travellers who want to combine durability with design. It’s stylish, functional, and endlessly customisable. Just be prepared to treat lifting it as part of your pre-flight workout.
