For the wellness-obsessed style set, Alo has become as essential to the off-duty wardrobe as Uniqlo is to the everyday Singaporean closet—only with an extra gloss of Hollywood polish. The brand’s signature sleek co-ords have been spotted on Hailey Bieber, Kaia Gerber, and Kendall Jenner, their paparazzi-ready looks moving effortlessly from reformer Pilates to iced matcha runs. In short, Alo has cemented its status as the athleisure of choice for fashion’s inner circle.
Founded in 2007 by childhood friends Marco DeGeorge and Danny Harris—its name a poetic nod to “air, land, ocean”—Alo vaulted into the global fashion consciousness in the post-pandemic era, when the boundaries between activewear and streetwear blurred and the “studio-to-sidewalk” aesthetic took hold.

Its retail footprint in Southeast Asia has grown steadily since its debut at Bangkok’s EmQuartier in 2023, followed by outposts in Phuket, Kuala Lumpur’s TRX, and Bali. Now, the brand is bringing its sun-drenched California ethos to Singapore, with a flagship opening at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands on 22 August 2025.
To mark the occasion, Alo hosted its inaugural Wellness Day at Capella Singapore, drawing an intimate guest list of press and influencers. The day began with a grounding Yin yoga and sound bath session guided by Naomi Neo, followed by a hands-on matcha latte workshop with Matsu Matcha, and concluded with an al fresco lunch at Fiamma. The event distilled the brand’s signature blend of mindful movement, understated luxury, and coastal cool—offering a tantalising preview of what Singapore’s Alo devotees can expect when the doors open.
