At GRAZIA Singapore HQ, the old excites us as much as the new and in this weekly column, we ask our fellow friends, industry-goers and beauty aficionados about the last thing they loved be it trends, products, or even the image they looked at when it came to inspiring themselves.
Here, Makeup Artist Fiona Bennett (@makeup_by_fionab) lists down some of her lasts.
The last beauty product I finished was the Sephora 12H Colorful Contour Eye Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner ($18). It’s hard for me to completely finish something but I go through one of the pencil every two weeks.
It’s cheap and glides easily onto the eye I’ve tried every brand but I buy this in bulk where I use 14 Cocoa on everyone I get my hands on.
The last viral makeup/skincare trend I tried was the Rare Beauty Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter ($42). At first, I was like “pffft, another TikTok trend but it’s actually damn good!
The last beauty product I bought for myself was the Olaplex Nº.3 Hair Perfector ($51). My hair is fried from being a pretend dark blonde.
For my kit? The IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Foundation + Skincare ($68) as it gives full coverage with a natural finish. I use it on most of my clients.
The last beauty product I bought again was the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze Styling Wax ($41). It’s my favourite brow gel as it’s one of the only ones that can tame the straightest of brows and keep them up all day.
The last beauty product I made a holy grail was the Fenty Beauty Bright Fix Undereye Brightener ($43). It colour corrects and its texture is super light with a finish that is completely undetectable.
It conceals even the darkest of weary-eyed circles!
The last beauty product I gifted someone was the M.A.C Cosmetics Extended Play Gigablack Lash Mascara ($44). It’s my favourite for lifting and lengthening and its tiny head catches all those non-existent baby Asian lashes.
The last beauty product that truly impressed me was the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Filter Powder ($79). Someone told me it’s better than any loose-setting powder which has always been my standard product after foundation and concealer.
I can say, hand on my heart, that is gives a flawless finish with zero cakiness!
The last beauty indulgence I treated yourself to was Profhilo! It is a skin booster and it was expensive cause it was two shots over a month!
But, my skin has been so much more hydrated, and plumper and I notice fewer fine lines.
The last images I looked at for beauty inspiration were images from the red carpet which usually sets the trends for the upcoming season.
PS: Can we also stop using “wedding natural makeup” pictures from Pinterest as inspiration, please?
The last makeup/skincare trick I taught someone was that higher is always better when it comes to blush placement. We should be lifting the face and not dragging it down.
