Few muses have become as synonymous with their design collaborators as Jennie has with Chanel. The famed partnership continues with Jennie as the face of Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2025/26 Pre-collection in a campaign tinged with ‘90s charm and modern contrasts.

Jennie is pictured draped in buttery leathers and classic Chanel tweeds, strolling through the galleries of the Palais-Royal in Paris, a historic venue with a special significance to Gabrielle Chanel. The collection is an exploration of femininity, rooted in Chanel’s house codes and drawing direct inspiration from American romantic comedy heroines of the ‘90s—think Julia Roberts’s boyish allure as Anna Scott in Notting Hill. These influences are personal to Jennie, who cites Notting Hill as her favourite film of all time, and the ‘90s as a particular decade of style inspiration.

The collection may draw its inspiration from ‘90s silver screen It-girls, but it is decidedly modern in its execution. A true study of contrasts, each look blends masculine and feminine influences in a subtle balancing act. Jennie lounges on fluffy white sheets in a baby blue cashmere knit set, but the look is stopped from veering too far into bubblegum dreaminess by a pair of thigh-high leather boots. Chanel house codes in the form of woollen tweed and gold embellishments are also instantly recognisable, but are given a fresh twist in the vein of ‘90s cool. A crepe corset draws its structure from a men’s waistcoat and is softened with feminine accents in the form of beaded straps and bows. Similarly, a wide-shouldered, boxy wool and cashmere coat is draped over a form-fitting white tank top and jeans.

Jennie’s synergy with Chanel is well-documented. Dubbed ‘Human Chanel’ by fans for her effortless embodiment of the brand’s design language and her ability to sell out any piece within minutes of endorsing it, the K-pop star was also among the last of the house’s muses to be handpicked by the late Karl Lagerfeld.

The collection is only the latest iteration of the now eight-year-long partnership between the iconic French house and one of Asia’s biggest stars, proving once more why the two complement each other so perfectly. A Chanel muse through and through, Jennie is just a girl, standing in front of a timeless brand, asking you to love her.

The Fall/Winter 2025 Pre-collection is now available in Chanel boutiques.
