The Loro Piana Spring/Summer 2025 collection marked the turning of the page for the maison. In this new chapter, the Italian house’s focus remains clearer than ever. When asked about its ambitions for the coming century, chief executive officer Damien Bertrand explained to WWD Japan last September: “The maison has changed a lot in the last years, but we have always been anchoring back to the excellence, obsession for quality, tradition, innovation, to the heritage and to the [Loro Piana] family.”
For long-time fans of Loro Piana, this obsession with excellence has always been apparent. Since its inception, the label has prided itself in being the epitome of true luxury, which meant using the best textiles available—cashmere from goats native to the mountainous regions of Asia, for example—and developing classic yet stylish silhouettes unique to the house. The result? Signature pieces such as the Loom bag, the Traveller jacket and the Sergio loafers that can withstand the winds of time. Such offerings from the historic label are popular with today’s Hollywood set precisely because of their timelessness and unrivalled quality.

With more attention on the house than ever, Loro Piana persists in sharing its heritage with the masses. It is no wonder then that it drew from its storied past for this collection inspired by silhouettes reminiscent of the style of Sergio Loro Piana, the figures responsible for transforming the brand. Linen from Solbiati—a renowned linen company acquired by Loro Piana over a decade ago for its rich archive of textiles—was also at the centre of the Loro Piana Spring/Summer 2025 collection. The lightweight fabric was seen in loose, longline vests, voluminous cropped trousers and more.
For the uninitiated, the Traveller field jacket for women is modelled on the design created for men. The crowd-favourite offering has been tailored to fit female proportions and spotlights a sporty, androgynous look, four spacious pockets and hidden zip and button closures for seamlessness.
The designs of the scarves nodded to the house’s heritage motifs depicting animals, botanical elements and more. Necklaces paid homage to the faceted hardware charm on the Extra Bag and incorporated flowers crafted from linen—the highlighted fabric of the season—in their designs. Jackets, boxier in shape for ease of movement, were paired with knee-length skirts, a reintroduction to Loro Piana’s ladylike look first seen last season.

The house’s celebration of its heritage was matched in equal parts with its desire to create improved experiences for its modern wearer. Its new vision for femininity saw silky blouses and breezy pleated skirts, safari jackets cinched at the waist and the comeback of the house’s campo de lino flower motif in an inky black. Short vests and matching co-ords crafted from an innovative blend of cashmere and Abaca—banana leaf fibre—can be layered with the selection of outerwear to carry its wearer through various seasons.
The collection also saw the debut of the Ghiera tote, a structured, voluminous tote bag with clean lines, leather straps and gold clasps at its sides to change its shape in a pinch. This understated shopper can be slung over the shoulder or handheld. Another new style to note is the Extra Drawstring Backpack—which may sound like a casual accessory on paper, but is crafted from the finest leathers to create a sophisticated and sculptural silhouette. Loro Piana’s beloved Loom bag, meanwhile, has been reimagined in new materials and fresh colours, like saffron yellow.

The new look for the Loro Piana woman, which Bertrand describes as “contemporary, but still timeless, so that people could recognise the stylistic signature of Loro Piana”, is completed with the Alba mule in flat and heeled variations, Sergio loafers as a more formal alternative and John boots, a calf-length design in buttery saddle calf leather.
As Loro Piana makes its next steps forward, the historic house makes it clear that an endless pursuit of innovation balanced with a deep respect for its roots is the key to a century’s worth of success.
