The “exhilaration of travel” was on the brain for Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2025 show, which unfolded like a love letter to movement. Paying tribute to the station as a platform for life’s most poignant moments and infinite possibilities—departures and reunions, anticipation and reflection—creative director Nicolas Ghesquière aptly captured the thrill of the unknown ahead.

In the heart of L’Étoile du Nord, a hidden station steeped in the romance of 19th-century rail travel, the Fall/Winter 2025 collection translated motion into style. Silhouettes mirrored the ebb and flow of travel itself, with long, sweeping coats in fluid wool styled with inconspicuous accessories evoking the drama and mystery of transience, while tailored suits, their sharpness softened by supple leathers and silk scarves knotted at the throat, exuded high-flying opulence. There were nods to Vuitton’s most storied travel companions—the Keepall’s heritage echoed in soft-sided bags reimagined in muted pastels and streamlined shapes, including the debut of L’Express, a new icon in the making.

But with the warming glow of nostalgia also came the excitement for what’s next. Ghesquière, ever the futurist, infused the collection with the electro sound of Kraftwerk, the legendary group whose Trans-Europe Express soundtracked the show. Their influence was tangibly reflected in the season’s offering: sleek gorpcore-style finishes, digital-inspired prints, and the album cover emblazoned on statement pieces. The past and future were seamlessly brought together in metallic Victorian ruff collars, opulent fur coats bespeckled with silver, and luxurious jacquard paired with chunky modernist sneakers and smooth leathers.

As models wove through the station’s vast concourse, a medley of looks proved fashion as the ultimate vessel for adventure and passports to another world. Distilled into every fold, stitch, and silhouette is the House’s rich history of designing for the spirit of travel. And though Ghesquière is nearing 12 years at Louis Vuitton—a lifetime by current standards—he continues to impart the feeling that the journey has only just begun—the exhilaration of travel, indeed.
