When Burberry unveiled its Spring/Summer 2025 campaign, it paid tribute to a very British film tradition: romantic comedies. The fashion brand unveiled a series of films inspired by beloved British rom-coms from the 1990s and 2000s—Notting Hill, Bridget Jones’s Diary and Love, Actually all come to mind—and depicted scenes of romances blossoming on the streets of London.

“A Burberry love story comes to life through the cinematic lens of this campaign,” said creative director Daniel Lee. “It’s about humour, optimism and, of course, the unpredictability of our great British weather.”

Aptly, Burberry’s new campaign also features a swoon-worthy cast who have starred in rom-coms themselves. That includes Kate Winslet, who was in The Holiday; Nicholas Hoult, who became famous as a child actor when he starred in About A Boy opposite rom-com icon Hugh Grant; and emerging actress Aimee Lou Wood, who made a splash in Netflix’s Sex Education.

Wood, who is now starring in season 3 of The White Lotus, brings her charms to her Burberry campaign film with English actor Michael Ward. Their on-screen chemistry is hard to miss as the pair spends time together in the park, with Wood playfully teasing Ward’s pronunciation of the film Past Lives. But, as the campaign is set in London, it soon begins to rain. Thankfully, both Wood and Ward are protected by their trusty Burberry trench coats.

In the exclusive Q&A ahead, Wood tells GRAZIA Singapore all about her experience filming Burberry’s new campaign, her love of rom-coms, and what’s next for her as an actress.

What thoughts immediately come to mind when you think of Burberry?

Aimee Lou Wood (ALW): I think of London cool kids! And those cool kids can be any age, 28 or 80. Burberry is for everyone.

What is your earliest memory of Burberry?

ALW: My earliest memory is seeing the campaigns in the magazines that always featured actors I admired.

What drew you to the campaign?

ALW: I love rom-coms. Meg Ryan is one of my heroes. And the clothes of course!

What was your favourite moment from the Burberry campaign shoot?

ALW: Working with Michael [Ward] was just so fun. He’s hilarious. We laughed but also had profound chats.

Which piece do you treasure most in your Burberry collection?

ALW: I treasure my custom Burberry dress made for me for the premiere of The White Lotus.

What are your favourite things to do in summer?

ALW: My favourite things to do in summer is sit outside having drinks with my friends and listening to chill music. The days are long and sumptuous.

What is your most cherished summertime memory?

ALW: I would say sitting in Cornwall with my besties eating crab rolls and looking at the sea.

What is the most memorable advice you’ve received during your acting career?

ALW: Jim Howick said to me, “Never be afraid to be the clown”. I loved that. Sometimes, in an ocean of cool, it is hard to feel courageous enough to be silly and tragic, but it’s what life is all about. Life is happy and sad all at the same time.

Which attributes attract you to a character when reading a script?

ALW: I always look for their mission. What do they want or need from this life? If their mission is something that resonates with me then I will always want to go on it.

Is there a role you would like to play but haven’t had the chance yet?

ALW: I feel pretty satisfied with my career. I feel ridiculously lucky already. But maybe a horror film would be fun! Although, I feel I would scare myself.

You won the BAFTA for Best Female Comedy Performance in Sex Education. What is the most fulfilling part of playing a comedic role?

ALW: It’s being free. Often comedy is more true to life and finding the melancholy within it makes it so satisfying.
