Aupen’s Nirvana bag—which Taylor Swift has deemed as the perfect accessory for both a wedding and a night out—is finally back in stock.

Launched in May 2023, the Aupen Nirvana bag has seen a meteoric rise to its It-bag status. You can thank Swift, who stepped out in New York City during a date with Travis Kelce last year while toting the sleek accessory. The music superstar had also carried her Nirvana bag in Noir when attending Jack Antonoff’s wedding earlier in the year.

The Aupen Nirvana bag has since cemented itself as a cult-favourite accessory among Hollywood’s A-listers, and has been spotted on Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez and Olivia Rodrigo. Even Charli XCX has recently given it her “Brat” stamp of approval.

It’s easy to see the bag’s appeal. Like all other offerings from Aupen, the Nirvana bag is designed with an artistic approach. The minimalist shoulder bag is distinguished with its asymmetrical, sculptural form and features a braided handle and statement hardware details.

The Nirvana bag also maintains a luxurious look and feel, owing to its meticulous craftsmanship. Aupen produces its bags in partnership with the hardware atelier Jade Groupe—whose clients include Chanel and Schiaparelli—as well as Tanneries Roux, France’s oldest tannery, whose leathers are used by luxury brands including Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Dior and Loewe.

Come 2025, Aupen will also take its commitment to quality to another level. The bag brand has announced its partnership with the LVMH Métiers d’Art, which will allow it to tap onto the expertise of the luxury group’s craftspeople and ateliers for its upcoming collections. Aupen will soon shift some of its production to France, marking a new chapter for the homegrown label.

Until then, you’ll want to get your hands on Aupen’s Nirvana bag while you can. The versatile accessory has sold out before, thanks to its immense popularity. Other styles from Aupen’s debut range, including the Joy bag (which has been worn by Sydney Sweeney and Emma Roberts) and the Purpose bag (a favourite for Beyoncé and Hailey Bieber) have been discontinued, too.

Aupen’s restock of the Nirvana bag also offers even more stylish options to flaunt this festive season. There’s the Nirvana Chain bag, which trades the bag’s signature braided handle for an adjustable gold-tone metal chain. The Nirvana Ice bag, meanwhile, gets its name for its glitzy exterior covered in crystals. And those looking to channel the boho chic aesthetic can consider the Nirvana Suede bag in a deep chocolate brown hue.
