The number one girl on everyone’s minds lately? Rosé. The Blackpink star has now struck out on her own, releasing her first full-length solo album Rosie earlier this month. If you’ve not heard the album, just know that it’s hit after hit. The Australian-South Korean singer has come into her own, with songs from the album just about reaching every major music chart within hours of release.
But what we’ve been truly smitten with is Rosé’s new look. Ditching the pin straight look of her earlier days with Blackpink, soloist Rosé has (so far, at least) been opting for a much more enchanting look. With romantic curls and soft rosy makeup, the era of Rosie has brought about a different aura from the star.

Before the signature curls we’ve known from this Rosie era, Rosé toyed with a more subtle alternative. For a Rimowa event, the singer chose to add more volume to her LBD with beach waves. The best part about this look? A little frizz is not only allowed but adds character and a sense of natural flow to the look.
A very apt look for Rosie was Rosé’s ethereal makeup look. To recreate a look like this, don’t be afraid to go heavy on the blush—splash it across the middle of the face, not forgetting to hit the nose bridge. Overline the lips with a pink-toned nude and top it off with a glossy rose lip. With a look like this, you don’t need to fret too much over the skin. Letting the natural shadows and beauty marks from your skin peak through will only add depth to the overall finish of the look. Finish it off with a touch of highlighter on the tip of your nose, and you’re good to go.
If you’re after that old money aesthetic, take a cue from Rosé’s recent look look for a Sulwhasoo event in Seoul. Think big, loose curls that naturally cascade down the shoulders, and level it up with a half-updo for a graceful finish.
For Blackpink’s unforgettable performance at BST Hyde Park in 2023, Rosé ditched her typical soft, natural makeup look for something a little fiercer. She opted for a green-grey smoky eye, with a brick red blotted lip, for some intensity on the face. To ace this look, take a page from Rosé’s book and blend the lips out, beyond your natural lip line. Then centre the look with a rosy blush in the middle of the face.
If an intense lip doesn’t scream you, you can use the blotted technique with a rosy pink shade instead. Focusing the pigment on the middle of your pout can balance out any unevenness in the face, and give the appearance of fuller lips.
This was the true start of Rosé’s big curls. To achieve this voluminous look, you want to make sure your hair is prepped and protected. Use curl-defining heat protectants before curling your locks with a large barrel, making sure to work in small sections. And don’t forget to lock it all in with post-styling treatment to keep any frizz at bay.
For this doll look that Rosé sported for her season’s greetings visuals from last year, it’s all in the eyes. First, apply a light pink shadow all over the lids and deepen the colour with a warm brown shadow. Then, elongate the eyes with a smudged wing liner, and bring some depth into the outermost corner of the eyes, meeting the lower lash line with a medium brown eyeshadow.
If you’re looking for a nice way to spice up any braided look, you can also look out for more dressy accessories. Like Rosé’s beaded ribbons, these accessories can elevate even the simplest of hairstyles. A great low-effort option for holiday parties.
For her performance on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the 27-year-old went with a more muted makeup look. She embraced the cold-girl makeup trend, and went heavier with the blush across her nose and cheekbones but kept the rest of her face minimal and subdued. Even her eyeliner here is a controlled cat eye, as opposed to her usual downward-pointing liner look.
At the release of the Born Pink movie premiere, Rosé (in addition to literally donning black and pink for the event) aced this baby-doll moment with her hair. To complement her sweet micro-buns, she opted for some baby pink bows for dimension and texture.
