At GRAZIA Singapore HQ, the old excites us as much as the new and in this weekly column, we ask our fellow friends, industry-goers and beauty aficionados about the last thing they loved be it trends, products, or even the image they looked at when it came to inspiring themselves.
Here, Balletbody‘s founder Alison Carroll (@Alison.Carroll) shares some of her lasts.
The last beauty product I finished was Future Cosmetics’s Beauty Drops No. 3 ($66). I’ve gone through at least 10 bottles of this holy grail serum in the past few years.
It’s my go-to for that glow and works amazingly in calming my sensitive skin down. It has a really light weight texture that makes it perfect for layering with other serums too.
The last viral makeup/skincare trend I tried was wearing my cream blush a little higher up almost under my eyes after seeing a tutorial video even though I’m not big on following trends.
There must be a name for this that I’m completely missing out on. But I’ve tried that and it does give me a slightly fresher look with a nice natural flush.
The last beauty product I bought was La Roche-Posay’s Anthelios UVMune 400 Fluid SPF50+ PA++++ ($51.90) which is my current go-to. My skin is really sensitive and doesn’t usually do well with chemical sunscreens but this one seems okay so far.
I love that it doesn’t leave a white cast or has a greasy finish.
The last image I looked at for beauty inspiration wasn’t a particular one as I tend to constantly look out for beauty inspiration around me. But I do find myself always drawn to natural beauty.
The no-make-up make up look is my favourite.
The last beauty product I bought again was Aesop’s Geranium Leaf Hydrating Body Treatment ($47). I love the smell and texture.
The last beauty indulgence I treated myself to was a spa and facial day. I’m constantly on the go so sleep and quiet time to myself is such a luxury to me.
This is definitely one of my biggest beauty indulgences.
The last beauty product I made a holy grail was Chanel Beauty’s N°1 De Chanel Revitalizing Body Serum-In-Mist ($126). I carry this with me everywhere I go now.
It’s the perfect pick-me-up that calms and hydrates my skin all day. I especially love using this on long-haul flights. My only regret is not discovering the N°1 range sooner!
The last beauty product I gifted someone was the Chanel Beauty N°1 De Chanel Lip and Cheek Balm ($73). Firstly, it comes in the cutest little tub and secondly, it’s a tint infused with skincare so what’s not to love?
I gifted this to a friend recently and she can’t stop raving about it either.
The last beauty product that truly impressed me was Future Cosmetics’s Future-Cream Extreme No. 1 ($193). I’m not usually a fan of using cream moisturisers, especially during the day but this one just melts into my skin like butter.
It doesn’t feel heavy or pill when layered on. Truly impressed indeed.
The last makeup/skincare trick I taught someone was not really a trick but whenever anyone asks what my beauty secrets are, I always say get enough sleep, never go to bed with your make-up on, wear sunscreen even on a cloudy day and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
