Father’s Day is quickly approaching us yet again, and so is the annual tradition of dads insisting they don’t need anything fancy. In lieu of this stereotypical non-answer, we’ve done the only sensible thing and rounded up the dining spots around the city that have done all the planning already. Whether it’s long brunches or late dinners, there’s a table waiting for every type of celebration. Steaks, seafood, and desserts will not be left untouched.

Brunch

Is there anything better than an indulgent brunch? This Father’s Day, dads can eat to their heart’s content at La Brasserie’s Father’s Day Brunch buffet. Located at Fullerton Bay Hotel, the French bistro looks out onto Marina Bay waterfront through floor-to-ceiling windows, creating a bright ambience for celebratory occasions.

For the occasion, fathers can enjoy an exclusive Glenfiddich whisky tasting paired with caviar. Its brunch menu is a generous affair, led by some impressive fresh seafood like Boston lobsters and Alaskan king crab legs, scallops, and prawns. Live stations serve beef tartare along with legs of roasted spring lamb, while the buffet continues with Chilean sea bass cooked in meunière sauce and French-style duck breast paired with a rich caramelised orange sauce. If dad likes flavours closer to home, La Brasserie’s Asian Kitchen station is plentiful with local favourites like Hainanese chicken rice, laksa, and satay.

For dads with younger families, The Kitchen Table at W Singapore keeps both kids and adults equally engaged. Its resort location and child-friendly activities make it especially suited for larger families marking Father’s Day together.

On 21 June, the restaurant’s usual Sunday brunch will be set to live DJ music, with magic shows for kids and giant Jenga keeping younger guests occupied. With the children taken care of, diners can take their time to peruse at the array of buffet stations on offer and grab drinks from the interactive beverage trolley. The spread spans chilled seafood, including Coffin Bay and Tasmanian oysters and scallops on the shell, as well as sushi and sashimi selections. More indulgent cuts are prepared at the restaurant’s Parrilla Grill, like a hearty Lamb T-bone or rich Wagyu Beef Truffle Parmesan Sausages.

Lunch

Summer Pavilion

For a grand, Michelin-starred lunch to celebrate dads in all their greatness, The Ritz-Carlton’s Summer Pavilion is a fine choice. Framed by soft garden-inspired design and elegant architecture, the Cantonese restaurant is a fitting backdrop for a special occasion. Its cuisine is helmed by Chef Cheung Siu Kong, whose decades of experience in Hong Kong have allowed Summer Pavilion to stay true to the traditions and precision that underpin Cantonese cooking.

On 20 and 21 June, Summer Pavilion has prepared two types of six-course set menus that highlight the finest of Cantonese flavours. Opt for signatures like suckling pig, double-boiled bird’s nest soup, and braised South African dried abalone; or a more seafood-forward menu consisting of poached five grain rice with Dong Xing grouper, and baked Canadian lobster with chili sauce.

The Coach Restaurant

It wouldn’t be Father’s Day without a good steak. The Coach Restaurant has timed its newest offering perfectly to usher in the special day. The New York-inspired restaurant channels the energy of a classic Manhattan steakhouse, complete with bronzed surfaces and leather banquettes.

Its new Sunday Prime Rib experience is a particularly fitting menu for dads everywhere. On 21 June, diners will be treated to a special one-day-only USDA Prime Striploin from Linz Chicago, aged in-house and finished with beef tallow infused with burnt corn husk and Woodford Reserve bourbon. The meat is carved tableside from a rolling trolley—a little old-school steakhouse theatre to accompany the meal. An added bonus: fathers ordering the special will also receive a complimentary Coach beer or Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned. It is hard to imagine many fathers turning down either.

Dinner

Koma

Koma arguably combines two things Singaporeans love the most: Japanese cuisine and anything with wagyu on the menu. Located in Marina Bay Sands, Koma is a setting for dads who like a little theatre. Inside, rows of illuminated torii-inspired archways lead into a vast dining room.

The restaurant’s Father’s Day offering is just as grandiose. The three-course dinner centres on a Mayura Wagyu Tomahawk prized for its rich marbling and deep umami flavour, followed by desserts such as Matcha Tiramisu Pint layered with yuzu curd and a Cereal-Clad Ice Cream “Drumstick” for a crunchy finish. Those looking to add another wagyu dish to the table can also opt for the Mayura Tenderloin Beef Tartare from the à la carte menu

Situated 57 floors above the city, Lavo is an Italian restaurant that has all the warmth of Mediterranean coastal dining mixed with the metropolitan energy of Singapore. The space carries a coastal Italian ambience, with stucco walls and arched doorways setting the backdrop for leisurely meals. By day, it’s a relaxed spot to luxuriate in shareable plates. By night, Lavo adopts a livelier character, as the rooftop terrace fills out and cocktails start coming out by the dozens.

Its à la carte menu offers a number of crowd-pleasing Italian plates, including Wagyu Beef Carpaccio with black truffle and Bucatini Carbonara with crispy guanciale. After a spread of Italian favourites, Lavo’s rooftop bar steps in with a dessert and drink pairing created in celebration of dads. A warm Cookie Pie comes served straight in the skillet, paired with a Hero’s Highball—a mix of hazelnut, sweet vermouth, and amaro lucano.
