I have been fiercely loyal to my AirPods Pro since day one—seduced by their discreet portability and the fact that they simply disappear into my life. Headphones, by contrast, always felt like an imposition: clunky, unwieldy, demanding to be accommodated wherever you went. The Beoplay H100 changed that entirely.

Mine arrived in Hourglass Sand—a neutral taupe and warm gold pairing that slots seamlessly into an editor’s wardrobe without apology. Make no mistake, this is not quiet luxury. The H100 commands attention with its sleek, ergonomic silhouette. But it earns every moment of it. The presentation and packaging alone signal exactly what you are investing in: a luxury object in every sense, worth every dollar of its $2,550 price tag.

What justifies that price becomes clear the moment you put them on. The H100’s custom 40mm titanium drivers reproduce Hi-Res audio at a fidelity that reveals layers in familiar tracks you never knew existed. Ten precision microphones power noise cancellation that audiophiles have called the best in class, while EarSense technology adapts the sound profile to your unique fit in real time—no manual adjustment needed. A five-minute charge buys five hours of playback. The result is headphones that feel, quite literally, tuned to you.

Sound quality is simply unparalleled. Podcasts, new album releases on Apple Music, calls fielded on the go—every listening experience feels genuinely elevated. The controls are equally impressive: intuitive, considered, and so elegantly executed that when I demonstrated the noise cancellation toggle to colleagues in the office, the reaction was unanimous disbelief at how effortless it all was.

Setup via the Bang & Olufsen app was seamless from the start. Now, several weeks in, I find myself reaching for the H100 daily—which, for a committed AirPods loyalist, says everything.

As I head to Shanghai for Bang & Olufsen’s 百年拂声 | 100 Years. And Counting. exhibition, I am bringing them along—and very much looking forward to learning what a century of sonic obsession truly sounds like.
