The Language Of Flowers: White Floral Fall Fragrances To Die For

Let the perennial elegance of the white floral accord—think a blend of notes the likes of jasmine, tuberose and gardenia—do the talking

While not commonly regarded as a fall scent, the white floral accord is one that offers up a myriad of delightful notes. Elegant, sophisticated and feminine, the white floral accord—which is usually seen through jasmine, peony and gardenia notes—is a profile that can truly be worn all-year-round. From the latest offerings from Gucci and Marc Jacobs to Givenchy, these are the fragrances that we love for the fall season.

MARC JACOBS Daisy Wild EDP, $180 for 50ml, Sephora.

To The Daisy

A fruity and floral fragrance that surprises at every turn, the new Daisy Wild perfume from Marc Jacobs features the unconventional banana blossom, lending it a creamy and fragrant start that is supported by a heart of jasmine and macadamia before settling into an earthy base of sandalwood and vetiver des sables.

GIVENCHY BEAUTY L‘Interdit Rouge Ultime EDP, $214 for 50ml

Lady In Red

Givenchy Beauty’s L’Interdit Rouge Ultime wears like a wonderfully cosy floral blanket, enticing with the silky honeyed notes of jasmine, orange blossom and neroli, and a seductive heart of Indian tuberose and cocoa. Rounding off the concoction is a woody anchor of vetiver and patchouli.

CHLOÉ L’Eau De Parfum Lumineuse, $290 for 100ml, Sephora; PENHALIGON’S Solaris EDP, $325 for 100ml

Golden Girls

Radiance is a hard quality to capture in fragrances, but both Chloé and Penhaligon’s have it down pat with their latest offerings. Rosy and sweet, the Chloé L’Eau De Parfum Lumineuse is a luminous rose perfume grounded by the intensity of jasmine and vanilla notes, with balsamic offering a soft, woody tone that makes the scent great to wear all year round. Penhaligon’s Solaris, meanwhile, is a brighter floral perfume whose white floral accord is carried by jasmine, ylang‑ylang and Tahitian gardenia, with the zingy notes of lemon, neroli and blackcurrant delivering a punch of vibrance. Uplifting and fresh, it is steadied by the opulence of cedarwood, sandalwood and vanilla, enriching the fragrance with a deep earthiness.

VALENTINO BEAUTY Born in Roma Donna Green Stravaganza, $250 for 100ml

Smoke Machine

Inspired by the grandeur of the lush gardens in Rome, the ambery‑floral Born in Roma Donna Green Stravaganza from Valentino Beauty opens with the smoky notes of Lapsang Souchong tea before revealing a rich jasmine heart and drying down to a warm base of gourmand vanilla for a fresh, milky scent that rests beautifully on the skin.

DIOR BEAUTY L’Or de J’adore, $315 for 50ml

Dawn To Musk

Not all flowery fragrances are created equal. A concentrated cocktail crafted by renowned perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, L‘Or de J‘adore from Dior Beauty distinguishes itself with delicate nuances of jasmine, violet and lily of the valley that have been thoughtfully balanced for an olfactory experience that feels as luxe as liquid gold.

YSL BEAUTY Libre L’Absolu Platine, $265 for 50ml; GUCCI BEAUTY Bloom Intense EDP, $300 for 100ml

Come Into Bloom

YSL Beauty and Gucci Beauty celebrate the feminine with sweet yet sexy fragrances. The former’s Libre L’Absolu Platine combines the citrusy freshness of bergamot and mandarin orange with the sweet softness of lavender and orange blossom threaded through with sultry base notes of vanilla and amber. In the latter’s Bloom Intense, meanwhile, notes of pear, ginger and mandarin tickle the nose on first whiff before opening up into a rich white floral heart of jasmine, tuberose and orange blossom. A dry down of patchouli, moss and coconut lends a sensuous quality to the sillage.
